Kingsway Community Care Center

Our mission is to worship God by meeting the needs of the underserved in our community in order to build bridges of faith in Jesus Christ.

Kingsway Community Care Center (KCCC) is a medical and dental clinic serving our neighbors without health insurance. Two paid staff members work with nearly 150 volunteers. Patients are seen by appointment-only and pay a nominal fee for service. Patient care hours and service offerings are determined by the skills, training and availability of willing volunteers.

KCCC began as vision shared from pulpit by Pastor John Caldwell; a committee was formed by Kingsway Christian Church in 2003; the organization incorporated in 2004 and opened its doors for patients in June 2005. The current facility (a former Laundromat and Tan) was purchased in September 2008.  KCCC is now a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, separate from the church.

Since June 2005, the volunteer medical and dental professionals have provided 8000 patient-visits to individuals without health insurance.  KCCC is the only medical clinic of its kind in Hendricks County and the only such dental clinic between Indianapolis and Terre Haute, IN.

Our desire is for an expanded ministry, including the addition of three staff—with a full-time medical provider—to allow more day hours, walk-in availability and a more comprehensive medical ministry. This would not replace the current volunteer model.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  1. Licensed health care professionals – physicians (including specialists), nurses, physician’s assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, pharmacists, physical therapists, chiropractors, dentists, dental assistants and hygienists
  2. Administrative and clerical – data entry, receptionists, scheduling, bookkeeping, volunteer coordination, filing, and office management
  3. Spiritual care – greet/meet with patients in waiting room; pray for and/or with patients; follow up on survey cards, connect patient to local ministries
  4. Special projects – fund raising, grant writing, special event management, marketing/PR, graphic design, facility maintenance/repair

Urgent volunteer needs are for dental professionals, an individual experienced with Quickbooks, and more team members to assist with the planning and implementation of a special event.

We praise God for the way He has continued to meet the needs of the ministry.  The community has come around us and supported us in many ways,  How do we say, “Thanks”?  Our patients say it best:

“I didn’t have a job when I moved here and had to stay with family.  I was grieving, stressed, worrying about money and having problems with my family. Out of desperation and lack of insurance, I started calling around to see if I could find some help with my depression and anxiety I was experiencing at a reduced fee.  I was led to the Kingsway Clinic in Avon, and it has been such a blessing!

I have met so many wonderful people through the Center. They are there when I need them and they offered a much needed ear, resources, advice along with medical care by caring doctors.

Everyone is so helpful and friendly.  They prayed with me and for me.  I know that God led me there to get help.  He knew I needed help and was at the end of my rope.  I am not sure I would have survived the depression I was dealing with if the clinic had not been available.”    Patient R

“It is wonderful that a clinic like this exists in our community.  Kingsway Community Care Center provides hope for those needing medical and dental care.  The volunteers are kind, helpful and create a great atmosphere of service.  I was drawn by the fact that this was a Christian faith-based clinic.”  Patient D

We are more grateful than you can imagine for the doctors, dentists, nurses and all the other people who volunteer their time to helping those in need.  Also, it would be amazing to know how many people have come to know and serve the Lord through your services.  Thank you so much.”  Patient J
